Q: Are you insured and bonded?
A: Yes, we are fully insured and bonded through PROfur, with all team members maintaining current certifications and licensing.
Q: What types of Pets do we care for?
A: We care for dogs, cats, small animals, and select exotic companions, beginning every relationship with a complimentary meet & greet to ensure we are the right fit.
Q: How is your team screened and trained?
A: Each handler is background-checked, professionally experienced, Pet First Aid certified through St. John’s Ambulance, and extensively trained in safety and animal behavior. 20+ hours of in-field training and online.
Dog Walking
Q: What does a nature group hike include?
A: Our signature hike includes safe transportation, structured socialization, enrichment in nature, recall practice, and a detailed photo and video update when your dog returns home content and fulfilled. Dogs joining group progess though a 2-month program.
Q: Are there requirements for group walks?
A: All group participants must be up to date on vaccinations, at least 6 months of age, spayed or neutered, and comfortably responsive to basic commands.
Q: Do you walk multiple dogs together?
A: Yes, our carefully curated group hikes include a maximum of six well-matched dogs per handler, following a thoughtful assessment period to ensure harmony and safety.
Q: Are puppies treated differently?
A: Yes, puppies receive shorter outings, frequent potty breaks, gentle socialization, command and foundational guidance appropriate to their stage of development. Puppies must be minimum 6 months of age to participate in our regular walking service and neutered/spayed to join group nature hikes.
Q: My dog isn’t very social - can they still be walked?
A: Absolutely, we offer private one-on-one walks designed to provide a calm, structured, and stress-free experience.
Q: What does a private walk/visit include?
A: Private services offer one-on-one care tailored to your pet’s needs, including walks, feeding, litter care, enrichment, medication support, and attentive companionship.
Q: Who are your services best suited for?
A: We support busy professionals, growing families, seniors, new puppy parents, and anyone seeking dependable, elevated care for their beloved companion.
Q: What happens in inclement weather?
A: We closely monitor conditions and adjust plans as needed to protect your pet’s comfort, health, and wellbeing. This could include shorter service, re-scheduling or cancellation.
Pet Hosting & In-Home Care
Q: How does pet hosting work?
A: Your pet stays exclusively with one of our dedicated hosts as the only client pet, maintaining their routine in a calm, loving home environment.
Q: Are you able to administer medications?
A: Yes, there is a small fee included, we confidently administer oral and injectable medications with precision, patience, and care.
Q: Do you offer overnight or 24-hour care?
A: Our overnight hosting includes attentive evening, overnight, and morning care, with time away thoughtfully tailored to your pet’s individual needs. This is not 24-hour constant care.
Q: Will I receive updates during care?
A: Yes, we provide regular photo and video updates, so you feel connected, reassured, and fully at ease while apart.
Q: Are you able to care for exotic pets?
A: Select exotic companions are welcomed following discussion and assessment during the meet & greet.
Q: Will you take my pet to an appointment?
A: Yes, private pet transportation to appointments is available for an additional fee to ensure seamless care while you are away.
Q: Should I tip my pets Host/Handler?
A: Tipping is never expected, but if you felt true peace of mind, received thoughtful communication, and knew your pet was cherished and protected like family, gratuities are a meaningful way to thank the dedicated handler who provided that level of care, with 100% going directly to them.
Scheduling & Policies
Q: Is there a meet & greet before starting service?
A: Yes, we always begin with a complimentary meet & greet to build trust, review routines, and ensure comfort for both you and your pet.
Q: How do I book and pay for services?
A: Most services are conveniently booked online through Time to Pet, with hosting and wedding services arranged personally, and payment accepted by credit card, e-transfer, or cash.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: We require 24 hours’ notice for walks and structured advance notice for hosting and event services (outlined in our client agreement), with deposits securing your reserved dates.
Q: Do you offer packages or preferred rates?
A: We offer preferred rates for extended stays, multi-pet households, and recurring weekly services that are more than 3 days as part of our commitment to long-term client relationships.
Safety & Emergencies
Q: What safety measures are in place?
A: We require up-to-date vaccinations, maintain detailed veterinary records, use secure equipment and recall protocols, and follow certified emergency preparedness practices at all times.
Q: What happens if my pet requires medical attention?
A: In the event of an emergency, we seek immediate veterinary care using your signed release and promptly contact you and your designated emergency contacts. We follow the protocol as outlined by St. Johns Ambulance.
Q: Do you have backup coverage?
A: Yes, we intentionally limit our bookings to ensure reliable backup support and uninterrupted care.
